HEALTHY CHANGES IN YOUR HAIR:
Loc Stages: Baby---Toddler---Adolescent---Teenager---Young Adult---Mature---Elderly--
The hair begins to Loc from the middle to the end, thats why you have to twist the new growth at least once a month, if you are trying to train your locs to be uniformed. (note: no hair will ever loc at the root ). The front of the hair will take much longer to loc than the back or the middle because the hair texture in the front is usually softer. (NO MATTER WHAT YOUR HAIR TEXTURE). Any water, steam, or heavy sweating could loosen the locs. Wrapping hair each night or while working out, with a stockin cap, satin cap or a silk scarf will help prevent the locs from loosening durning the beginning stages. Also wearing a shower cap while showering will help.
ITCHING: Itching is very common during the first three(3) months of the locing process, because you are not disturbing the hair as before on a daily basis. We have a peppermint anti-itch cooling mist, that controls dandruff, conditions and soothes skin discomfort.
FACT: Avoid waxes, black gel, for starting locs, these products are not water soluable, they will not dissolve in water. These products will make the loc heavy and sit with a dull film on the loc . Depending on the hair texture will determind what product is used.
